Starting your pipe smoking journey
A founding principle of our Pipe Club of India was to help new tobacco pipe smokers find their way into this wonderful pastime. In these sections you'll find our advice and tips to get the new pipe smoker up and running, and well on their way to enjoying the tranquility and simple pleasures of a good pipe. Tobacco pipe smoking is (and should be) an uncomplicated pastime and you don't need a long list of equipment and accessories. There are of course some essentials. Here we'll introduce the basics, with links to our advice on choosing your first tobacco pipe, and where to start with the bewildering array of tobaccos that are available to the pipe smoker. We also include some links to other websites to make it easier for you to get off to a good start, including some well known pipe manufacturers and retailers, information sites, and tobacco vendors. As you work your way through our introductory sections you'll likely come across some words or terms that you're unfamiliar with. We've tried to cover all of these in our Glossary of Tobacco Pipe Terms so remember to jump across to this whenever you might need a definition.
